The CATALYST Consortium
From 2000 to 2005, the CATALYST Consortium was a partnership of five organizations that worked to reduce maternal, infant, and child mortality worldwide through family planning and reproductive health projects and state-of-the-art leadership. CATALYST was funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Today, the project is no longer active, although their successes are carried forward through a follow-on project, The Extending Services Delivery (ESD) Project, also funded by USAID and targeted to run from 2006 to 2011.
The CATALYST consortium was led by Pathfinder International and included the Academy for Educational Development (AED), the Centre for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA), Meridian Group International, Inc., and PROFamilia Columbia. The Project had seven field offices (in Bolivia, Egypt, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Peru, and Yemen) and supported USAID programs in 15 countries worldwide.
